SI 2021/1455

SI 2021/1455. The Greenhouse Gas Emissions Trading Scheme (Amendment) Order 2021. Comes into force 7th February 2022. This Order amends SI 2020/1265. The Greenhouse Gas Emissions Trading Scheme 2020. The main changes made by this Order are:

Provision is made for the regulator to reject an installation’s monitoring plan and for the operator to appeal against the decision. Hospital or small emitters may apply to increase their emissions targets if the capacity of an installation is increased A person who is not an “aircraft operator” may apply for an emissions monitoring plan. Reportable emissions of installations and aviation emissions of aircraft operators must be recorded in the registry.

SI 2022/8

SI 2022/8. The Personal Protective Equipment at Work (Amendment) Regulations 2022. These regulations amend SI 1992/2966 Personal Protective Equipment at Work Regulations 1992. Comes into force 6th April. The amendments include a new definition of a “worker” and extends the meaning of “work”. The amendments also modify the duty, not to charge employees for PPE, contained in section 9 of the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974. Various references are amended.

SI 2022/29. The Ammonium Nitrate Materials (High Nitrogen Content) Safety (Amendment) Regulations. These regulations amend SI 2003/1082. Ammonium Nitrate Materials (High Nitrogen Content) Safety Regulations 2003. Comes into force 4th February. Makes very minor amendment to the text in Regulation 13.

SI 2022/ 48. The Environment Act 2021 (Commencement No. 2 and Saving Provision) Regulations 2022. Provides the dates on which specified sections of the Act come into force during 2022.
