An Essex manufacturing company has been fined £750,000 and ordered to pay costs of £29,511 following an incident, in September 29013, when a worker was fatally crushed after his arm was caught in a powered roller. The incident occurred because a critical guard was not in place.
HSE has published the third edition of the Guide to the PPE Regulations. Commission Regulation amending Regulation (EC) No 1831/2003 as regards the establishment of a new functional group of feed additives. Comes into force 29th December. Paragraph (n) is added to point 1 of Annex I to Regulation (EC) No 1831/2003, the following point (n) is added covering hygiene condition enhancers.
