The Air Navigation (Dangerous Goods) (Amendment) Regulations 2017. Comes into force 31st January. These Regulations further amend the Air Navigation (Dangerous Goods) Regulations 2002 (SI 2002/2786) by changing the definition of “Technical Instructions”.

The Renewable Heat Incentive Scheme (Amendment) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2017.  Coming into force 1st April. These Regulations amend the Renewable Heat Incentive Scheme Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2012 (SR 2012/396). Regulation 36 of SR 2012/396 is amended to introduce a tiered tariff and an annual cap of 400,000kWhth for eligible heat payments to small or medium commercial biomass installations accredited before 18th November 2015.

The Water Act 2014 (Commencement No. 8 and Transitional Provisions) Order 2017. Comes into force 6th March. Brings into force (a) section 32 (interim duty: sewerage services), (b) section 56 (further amendments) and (c) paragraph 64 of Schedule 7.

The Scottish Landfill Tax (Standard Rate and Lower Rate) Order 2017. Comes into force 1st April.  The standard rate of landfill tax in Scotland is set at £86.10 and the lower rate is £2.70.  Section 13 of Landfill Tax (Scotland) Act 2014.
