SSI 2019/271.  The Environmental Protection (Cotton Buds) (Scotland) Regulations 2019.  Comes into force 12th October. These regulations prohibit the manufacture and the sale of plastic stemmed cotton buds.

SSI 2019/273. The Management of Extractive Waste (EU Exit) (Scotland) (Miscellaneous Amendments) Regulations 2019. Comes intro force on Brexit Day. Makes minor textural amendments to bring up to date references to EU Directives.

SI 2019/1214. The Social Security (Industrial Injuries) (Prescribed Diseases) Amendment Regulations 2019. Comes into force 9th December.  Amends the Social Security (Industrial Injuries) (Prescribed Diseases) Regulations 1985 by adding A15 Dupuytren’s contracture of the hand resulting in fixed flexion deformity of one or more inter-phalangeal joints of one or more of the digit.

SI 2019/1252. The Genetically Modified Organisms (Deliberate Release) (Amendment) (England) Regulations 2019.  Comes into force 29th September. These regulations amend SI 2002/2443 the Genetically Modified Organisms (Deliberate Release) Regulations 2002). The amendments relate to the information to be contained in applications for consent to release genetically modified higher plants in relation to trials. They also make provision in relation to the information to be included in applications for consent to release genetically modified higher plants for commercial purposes.
