RI 2021/456.  European Union (Planning) (Habitats, Birds and Environmental Impact) Regulations 2021.  Comes into force 9th September.  These Regulations amend section 42 the Planning and Development Act 2000 with respect to developments of less than twenty houses.

RI 2021/457.  European Union (Planning) (Habitats, Birds and Environmental Impact) (No 2) Regulations 2021.  Comes into force 9th September.  These Regulations amend Chapters 3 and 3A of Planning and Development Regulations 2001. The amendments provide for procedural matters relating to Environmental Impact Assessment and appropriate assessment in respect of applications to planning authorities.

SI 2021/1108.  The Merchant Shipping (Prevention of Air Pollution from Ships) (Amendment) Regulations 2021.  Coming into force 22nd October. These Regulations amend SI 2008/2924  The Merchant Shipping (Prevention of Air Pollution from Ships) Regulations 2008 to give effect to a number of resolutions of the Marine Environment Protection Committee of the International Maritime Organization.  Amendments are made to amendments to Regulations 2(1); interpretation, 3; application and exemptions, 21; nitrogen oxides ,25; fuel oil quality and 32(1); offences and to Schedules 2 ; engines excluded from regulation 21) and 2A; sulphur oxides.  A new Regulation 2A is added to facilitate the implementation of subsequent amendments to the Convention for the Prevention of Pollution from Ships.

SI 2021/ 1115. The Renewable Energy, Energy Efficiency and Motor Fuel Emissions (Miscellaneous Amendments) (EU Exit) Regulations 2021.  Comes into force 28th October.  These Regulations amend the following Regulations as a result of the withdrawal of the United Kingdom from the European Union.
