SI 2023/658. The Restriction of the Use of Certain Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment (Amendment) Regulations 2023. Comes into force 17th July. These Regulations amend Table 1 of Schedule A2 to The Restriction of the Use of Certain Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment Regulations 2012 (SI 2012/3032).  The amendment extends the expiry dates for the use of mercury in designated lighting.

RI 2023/314. Merchant Shipping (Solas V-Safe Manning and Watchkeeping) Regulations 2023.  Comes into force 1st July 2023. These Regulations implement Regulation 14 of Chapter V of the Convention for Safety of Life at Sea and set out the obligations for shipowners and masters of a ship in relation to the safe manning of a ship and associated watchkeeping requirements.

SI 2023/712. The Relevant Licensee Nuclear Company Administration (England and Wales) Rules 2023. Comes into force 18th July. These Rules set out the procedure for the conduct of relevant licensee nuclear company administration proceedings in England and Wales. Relevant licensee nuclear company administration is a special insolvency regime specifically created for relevant licensee nuclear companies in Great Britain.

SI 2023/721. The Packaging Waste (Data Reporting) (England) (Amendment) Regulations 2023. Comes into force 30th June.  These Regulations amend The Packaging Waste (Data Reporting) (England) Regulations 2023 (SI 2023/219) to clarify when a brand owner is a producer in relation to packaging, to assign responsibility for certain packaging to packer/fillers, rather than brand owners and to importers, and to make further provision in relation to offences under the Regulations.
