SI 2024/127. The Railways (Revocation and Consequential Provision) Regulations 2024.  Comes into force 4th March. These Regulations amend The Railways and Other Guided Transport Systems (Safety) Regulations 2006 (SI 2006/599) by omitting the definition of “European Union Agency for Railways, in Reg 2, paragraphs (6) and (7) in Regulation 15 and sub-paragraph (b), (i), (bb) in paragraph 1 of Schedule 2.

SSI 2024/42. The Packaging Waste (Data Reporting) (Scotland) Amendment Regulations 2024. Comes into force 1st April.   These Regulations amend the Packaging Waste (Data Reporting) (Scotland) Regulations 2023 (SSI 2023/7).  They revise the definitions of “household packaging” and “exempt packaging,” and clarify the division of responsibilities between brand owners, packer/fillers, importers and first UK owners, and distributors. The add duties to be carried out by SEPA.

EU 2024/573. Regulation (EU) 2024/573 on fluorinated greenhouse gases, amending Directive (EU) 2019/1937 and repealing Regulation (EU) 517/2014.  Comes into force 11th March. This Regulation:

SI 2024/192. The Greenhouse Gas Emissions Trading Scheme (Amendment) Order 2024.  Comes into force 3rd March. This Order amends the UK ETS Order and Commission Delegated Regulation (EU 2019/331). The amendments change the window for operators of installations to apply for free allocation, the dates for the 2026-2030 allocations must be published.
