The Petroleum Licensing (Exploration and Production) (Landward Areas) (Amendment) (England and Wales) Regulations 2016. Comes into force 15th December. This amendment to The Petroleum Licensing (Exploration and Production) (Landward Areas) Regulations 2014 (SI 2014/1686) adds a clause with prohibits hydraulic fracturing from a well if the well pad is in a “Protected Area” in England or Wales.

The Town and Country Planning (General Permitted Development) (England) (Amendment) (No. 2) Order 2016. Comes into force 24th November. This Order substitutes Class A of Part 16 of Schedule 2 to the Town and Country Planning (General Permitted Development) (England) Order 2015 (SI 2015/596).

Class A covers electronic communications code operators.

The amendment covers emergency development, installation of masts, alteration and replacement of masts and building based apparatus.

The Pollution Prevention and Control (Fees) (Miscellaneous Amendments) (No. 2) Regulations 2016. Comes into force 1st December. These regulations amend: • Pollution Prevention and Control (Fees) (Miscellaneous Amendments and Other Provisions) Regulations 2015 (SI2015/1431) • Offshore Petroleum Activities (Conservation of Habitats) Regulations 2001 (SI2001/1754) • Energy Act 2008 (Consequential Modifications) (Offshore Environmental Protection) Order 2010 (SI 2010/1513).

The Contracts for Difference (Allocation) (Amendment) Regulations 2016. Comes into force 2nd November. These Regulations amend the definition of “delivery year” in regulation 2 of the Contracts for Difference (Allocation) Regulations 2014 (SI 2014/2011).
