WSI 2021/77. The Water Resources (Control of Agricultural Pollution) (Wales) Regulations 2021.  Comes into force 1st April.  These Regulations protect waters against pollution by nitrates from agricultural sources. These Regulations revoke and replace—

(a) the Nitrate Pollution Prevention (Wales) Regulations 2013 (WSI 2013/2506) which control the application of nitrogen fertiliser in nitrate sensitive areas, and

(b) the Water Resources (Control of Pollution)(Silage and Slurry) (Wales) Regulations 2010 (WSI 2010/136) which regulate the custody and control of silage and slurry and provided the design and construction standards applicable for its storage.

SR 2021/37.  The Explosives (Appointment of Authorities and Enforcement) (Amendment) (EU Exit) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2021. Coming into force 12th March. These regulations make minor amendments to the Explosives (Appointment of Authorities and Enforcement) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2015 (SR 2015/236), and substitute EU references which are no longer appropriate. These amendments will ensure that the CLP Regulation can operate effectively within the existing legal framework, while ensuring Protocol obligations are met. The Regulations do not make any policy changes beyond the intent of ensuring the continued operability of the existing legislation.

EU 2021/155. Commission Regulation (EU) 2021/155 concerning maximum residue levels of pesticides in or on food and feed of plant and animal origin.  Comes into force 2nd September.  This Regulation amends Annexes II, III and V to Regulation (EC) No 396/2005 with regard to maximum residue levels for carbon tetrachloride, chlorothalonil, chlorpropham, dimethoate, ethoprophos, fenamidone, methiocarb, omethoate, propiconazole and pymetrozine in or on certain products.

SI 2021/235. The Electricity Supplier Payments (Amendment) Regulations 2021.  Comes into force 1st April. Makes minor amendments to Regulation 23 of the Contracts for Difference (Electricity Supplier Obligations) Regulations 2014 (SI 2014/2014) and Regulation 9 of Electricity Capacity (Supplier Payment etc.) Regulations 2014 (SI 2014/3354
