A 2020 c.29.  European Union (Future Relationship) Act 2020. Comes into force 31st December. This bill implements the Trade and Cooperation Agreement (TCA) and the Agreements on Nuclear Cooperation and on Security Procedures for Exchanging and Protecting Classified Information (the Agreements).

It also enables the implementation of arrangements and Agreements that are either foreseen in the Agreements, or which are agreed by the UK and EU to be supplementary’ to the TCA. The Bill provides for the application of the Agreements in domestic law where relevant. The Bill also creates powers to make secondary legislation, where appropriate, to enable the Agreements to be implemented domestically or for domestic law to be interpreted in light of the Agreement.

Republic of Ireland legislation

RI 2020/670   Amends The European Union (Greenhouse Gas Emission Reductions, Calculation Methods and Reporting Requirements) Regulations 2017 (RI 2017/160).  Published 18th December. Amendments to Regulations 8 and 17.

SI 2021/33.  The Health and Safety and Nuclear (Fees) Regulations 2021.  Comes into force 1st April.  These Regulations revoke and replace the Health and Safety and Nuclear (Fees) Regulations 2016 (SI 2016/253) (“the 2016 Regulations”), except that the saving made by regulation 26(2) of the 2016 Regulations is maintained. The Regulations introduce fee increases for the fees that were fixed or determined by the 2016 Regulations reflecting the changes in the value of money since that date. The fees are raised by 2.2% from the level set out in the 2016 Regulations.

SI 2021/42. The Countryside Stewardship (England) (Amendment) Regulations 2021.  Coming  into force 8th of February.    These Regulations amend SI 2020/41 The Countryside Stewardship (England) Regulations 2020. The amendments are to Parts 2 and 3 of the Schedule.
