SI 2020/632.  The Town and Country Planning (Permitted Development and Miscellaneous Amendments) (England) (Coronavirus) Regulations 2020. Comes into force 1st August.  These Regulations amend the Town and Country Planning (General Permitted Development) (England) Order 2015 (SI 2015/596).  The definitions of “dwelling house” and “flat” are amended.  Other amendments cover longer periods of determination, changes to fees, the meaning of “enlargement”, rights which cannot be used by a “dwelling house”, natural light, the submission of detailed floor plans and the conversion of exiting dwellings into flats.  Part 20 has been added to of Schedule 2 to introduce a new permitted development right, Class A, allowing for the construction of additional “dwelling houses”.

SI 2020/660. The Health and Safety (Consequential Amendments) (EU Exit) Regulations 2020. Comes into force immediately before IP completion day. These Regulations amend the Health and Safety (Amendment) (EU Exit) Regulations 2018 (S.I. 2018/1370) (which amend subordinate legislation in the field of health and safety), and substitute a number of references to “exit day” in those regulations with “IP completion day”. SI 2020/650. The Domestic Renewable Heat Incentive Scheme and Renewable Heat Incentive Scheme (Amendment) Regulations 2020. Coming into force 20th July. These Regulations amend the Domestic Renewable Heat Incentive Scheme Regulations 2014 (SI 2014/928) and the Renewable Heat Incentive Scheme Regulations 2018 (SI 2018/611). The tables in Schedule 6 of SI 2014/928 used to calculate the initial tariff for the Domestic Renewable Heat Incentive Scheme have been substituted. The tariff guarantees granted in SI 2018/611 under the Non-Domestic Renewable Heat Incentive Scheme have been amended. The date for an applicant to submit financial closure information for a tariff guarantee has been extended to 31st March 2021 and the commissioning deadline extended to 31st March 2022.

SI 2020/620. The Merchant Shipping (Prevention of Pollution by Sewage from Ships) Regulations 2020.  Comes into force 22nd July 2020.  These Regulations revoke and replace the Merchant Shipping (Prevention of Pollution by Sewage and Garbage from Ships) Regulations 2008 (SI 2008/3257). The provisions in relation to the prevention of pollution by garbage from ships are now to be found in the Merchant Shipping (Prevention of Pollution by Garbage from Ships) Regulations 2020 (SI 2020/621), which come into force simultaneously with these Regulations.
