DEFRA consultation on waste regulation

DEFRA is consulting on the reform of the waste carrier, broker, dealer registration system in England. DEFRA consultation

DEFRA are consulting on the Biodiversity Net Gain Regulations and their Implementation. Consultation closes 5th April. https://consult.defra.gov.uk/defra-net-gain-consultation-team/consultation-on-biodiversity-net-gain-regulations/  This consultation sets out proposals and asks questions about how biodiversity net gain will be applied to Town and Country Planning Act development, and, at a higher level, Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects.

DEFRA consultation on single use plastic items

The Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs is consulting in preparation for developing legislation on commonly littered single-use plastic items.  Consultation closes 12th February 2022. https://www.gov.uk/government/consultations/commonly-littered-single-use-plastic-items-call-for-evidence Of particular interest are wet wipes, tobacco filters, sachets and single-use cups.  DEFRA is also consulting on a plan to ban the supply of single-use plastic items and polystyrene food and drink containers.
