Consultation on guidance for managing rail staff fatigue

The Office Road and Rail is consulting on draft guidance for managing rail staff fatigue.  Consultation published 9th February and closes 8th  March. https://www.orr.gov.uk/search-consultations/consultation-draft-guidance-managing-rail-staff-fatigue The guidance aims to help interpretation of the Railway and Other Guided Transport Systems (Safety) Regulations 2006, ROGS 2006, and other legal requirements relevant to fatigue.

Consultation on brownfield development policy

The Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities is consulting on changes to national planning policy to support brownfield development. Consultation published 13th February and closes 26th March.  https://www.gov.uk/government/consultations/strengthening-planning-policy-for-brownfield-development This consultation seeks views on changes to national, England only, policy to strengthen planning support for brownfield development and ensure the best use is made of land. The document consults on three proposals:

a change to the trigger on the urban uplift for brownfield development when at 95% delivery taking a flexible approach to internal layout guidance when building on brownfield land reviewing the threshold for referral of applications to the Mayor of London

The Office of Rail and Road is consulting on changes to guidance on new train protection systems.  Consultation published 19th January and closes 1st March. https://www.orr.gov.uk/search-consultations/consultation-draft-train-protection-systems-guidance   Guidance aims to clarify legal obligations of duty holders in relation to modern train protection systems.
