SI 2022/1169. The Merchant Shipping (Nuclear Ships) Regulations 2022.  Comes into force 8th December. These Regulations implement the requirements of Chapter VIII in the Annex to the Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea, 1974 which contains the safety requirements for merchant nuclear powered ships. These Regulations apply to all United Kingdom commercially operated nuclear ships and non-UK commercially operated nuclear ships in UK waters, including ships from States which are not parties to the Convention

SI 2022/1190. The Storage of Carbon Dioxide (Amendment) (EU Exit) Regulations 2022.  Comes into force 12th December.  These Regulations amend the definition of climate change legislation used in the licensing regime (SI 2010/2221 Storage of Carbon Dioxide (Licensing etc.) Regulations 2010) for the storage of carbon dioxide, to reflect UK legislation in respect of greenhouse gas emission trading schemes.

SI 2022/1210. The Building Safety Act 2022 (Commencement No. 3 and Transitional Provision) Regulations 2022. Comes into force 1st December. Sections 4(1), (2), (3) and (4) (regulator’s duty to facilitate building safety); Sections 9(1) and (2) (building advisory committee); and section 11 (residents’ panel).

SI 2022/1222. The Producer Responsibility Obligations (Packaging Waste) (Amendment) (England and Wales) Regulations 2022.  Comes into force 1st January 2023.  Amends Schedule 2, (recycling obligations) of SI 2007/871 The Producer Responsibility Obligations (Packaging Waste) Regulations 2007. Table 2 of the Schedule sets recycling targets for various materials for 2023.
