SI 2022/1169. The Merchant Shipping (Nuclear Ships) Regulations 2022.  Comes into force 8^th December. These Regulations implement the requirements of Chapter VIII in the Annex to the Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea, 1974 which contains the safety requirements for merchant nuclear powered ships. These Regulations apply to all United Kingdom commercially operated nuclear ships and non-UK commercially operated nuclear ships in UK waters, including ships from States which are not parties to the Convention
