SI 2021/1455

SI 2021/1455. The Greenhouse Gas Emissions Trading Scheme (Amendment) Order 2021. Comes into force 7^th February 2022.  This Order amends SI 2020/1265.    The Greenhouse Gas Emissions Trading Scheme 2020. The main changes made by this Order are:

• Provision is made for the regulator to reject an installation’s monitoring plan and for the operator to appeal against the decision.
• Hospital or small emitters may apply to increase their emissions targets if the capacity of an installation is increased
• A person who is not an “aircraft operator” may apply for an emissions monitoring plan.
• Reportable emissions of installations and aviation emissions of aircraft operators must be recorded in the registry.
