NIR 2023/6. The Packaging Waste (Data Reporting) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2023. Comes into force 28th February. These Regulations impose requirements on producers who are established in Northern Ireland to collect data on the packaging they supply to others and to report that information to the Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs.

SI 2023/63. The Control of Explosives Precursors and Poisons Regulations 2023.  Comes into force 1st October. These Regulations cover the supply of regulated and reportable substances controlled by The Poisons Act 1972. They impose various requirements on persons who supply such substances or regulated explosives precursors or who operate an online marketplace for such substances. They also make amendments to Schedule 1A, the list of regulated and reportable substances, to The Poisons Act.

SI 2023/35. The Merchant Shipping (Watercraft) Order 2023.  Comes into force 31st March. This order confers certain provisions of the Merchant Shipping Act and of the Harbours Act 1964, as they apply to ships to apply to watercraft. Watercraft, with certain exemptions means any type of craft which is mechanically powered, used on water and carries one or more persons.  The order covers the registration and safe use of such craft and the relevant duties of harbour authorities.
