UK Government is publishing temporary amendments to Statutory Instruments in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.  The time frame for these amendments appears to be from present until September 2020. Simplifi will process these amendment as normal and will “red-line” them at such time that they cease to apply.

SI 2020/324. The Single Use Carrier Bags Charges (England) (Amendment) Order 2020. Comes into force 21st March to 21st September 2020. This Order amends the Single Use Carrier Bags Charges (England) Order 2015 (SI 2015/776).  Single use charges will not apply for bags intended to be used solely to carry goods purchased for home delivery as part of an online grocery delivery service.

SI 2020/312. The Electrical Safety Standards in the Private Rented Sector (England) Regulations 2020. Coming into force 1st June. These Regulations impose duties on private landlords of residential premises in England in respect of electrical safety standards. The duties do not apply to landlords of social housing. The Regulations require local housing authorities to enforce the duties, and include a power to arrange remedial action.
