SI 2019/1350

SI 2019/1350. The Environment (Legislative Functions from Directives) (EU Exit) Regulations 2019. Comes into force on Brexit day. These Regulations transpose responsibility for compliance with EU Directives from the European Commission to UK Authorities.  The Directives in question are:

Directives relating to air quality – Part 2. The Environmental Noise Directive (Directive 2002/49/EC) – Part 3 The INSPIRE Directive (Directive 2007/2/EC) – Part 4 The Marine Strategy Framework Directive (Directive 2008/56/EC) – Part 5 Directives relating to water quality – Part 6.

SI 2019/1320. The Cableway Installations (Amendment) (EU Exit) Regulations 2019. Comes into force on Brexit day. Makes very minor amendments to Regulations 3 and 10 and deletes Regulations 9 and 17 to 19 of The Cableway Installations Regulations 2018 (SI 2018/816). Also amends Regulation (EU) 2016/424 on cableway installations.

New EU Regulations on eco-design

New EU Regulations on eco-design covering welding equipment, household dishwashers, refrigeration appliances household washing machines and household washer-dryers.  These Regulations come into force 1st March 2021. They currently do not have official reference numbers.

 EU 2019/–. Regulation (EU) 2019/– laying down ecodesign requirements for welding equipment.  Keys aspects covered by this Regulation are energy consumption in the use phase including times when equipment is in ‘idle’ mode and resource efficiency.

EU 2019/–. Regulation (EU) 2019/– laying down ecodesign requirements for household dishwashers. The Regulation amends Commission Regulation (EC) No 1275/2008 and repeals Commission Regulation (EU) No 1016/2010.  The Regulation revises the requirements related to use of energy and water and introduces requirements related to resource efficiency such as reparability and recyclability.

EU 2019/–. Regulation (EU) 2019/– laying down ecodesign requirements for refrigerating appliances.  The Regulation repeals and replaces Commission Regulation (EC) No 643/2009.  The new regulation introduces energy efficiency requirements for wine storage appliances and shows that correction factors can be eliminated or significantly reduced.  Refrigerating appliances with a direct sales function are subject to a separate ecodesign regulation.

EU 2019/–.  Regulation (EU) 2019/– laying down ecodesign requirements for household washing machines and household washer-dryers.  This Regulation amends Commission Regulation (EC) No 1275/2008 and repeals Commission Regulation (EU) No 1015/2010. The Regulation revises the requirements related to use of energy and water and introduces requirements related to resource efficiency such as reparability and recyclability.
