The Environmental Impact Assessment (Agriculture) (Wales) Regulations 2017.  Comes into force 16th May. These Regulations revoke and replace The Environmental Impact Assessment (Agriculture) (Wales) Regulations 2007 (WSI 2007/2933).

These Regulations implement Directive 2011/92/EU on the assessment of the effects of certain public and private projects on the environment in relation to projects for the restructuring of rural land holdings and projects for the use of uncultivated land or semi-natural areas for intensive agricultural purposes.

The Electricity Works (Environmental Impact Assessment) (England and Wales) Regulations 2017. Comes into force 16th May. These regulations revoke and replace the Electricity Works (Environmental Impact Assessment) (England and Wales) Regulations 2000 (SI 2000/1927).

These Regulations implement Directive 2011/92/EU onthe assessment of the effects of certain public and private projects on the environment, as amended by Directive 2014/52/EU. These Regulations also make other changes to the existing regime for EIAs which do not arise from Directive 2014/52/EU.

These regulations cover applications for new consents for offshore generating stations under section 36 of the Electricity Act 1989 (c.29) and variations to such consents. They also cover consents for overhead electric lines under section 37 of that Act

The Carbon Accounting Scheme (Scotland) Amendment Regulations 2017. Comes into force 6th May. These Regulations amend the Carbon Accounting Scheme (Scotland) Regulations 2010 (SSI 2010/216).

Amendments update the definition of “European Union allowance” to reflect the transition from phase 2 (2008-2012) to phase 3 (2013-2020) of the European Union Emissions Trading Scheme (“EU ETS”). They also amend the rules for the accounting of carbon units in relation to emissions from aviation activities in 2014 match the method used to calculate the appropriate net Scottish emissions account figure for that year.
