EU 2024/573.

EU 2024/573. Regulation (EU) 2024/573 on fluorinated greenhouse gases, amending Directive (EU) 2019/1937 and repealing Regulation (EU) 517/2014. Comes into force 11th March. This Regulation:

lays down rules on containment, use, recovery, recycling, reclamation and destruction of fluorinated greenhouse gases imposes conditions on the production, import, export, placing on the market, subsequent supply and use of fluorinated greenhouse gases, imposes conditions on specific uses of fluorinated greenhouse gases; establishes quantitative limits for the placing on the market of hydrofluorocarbons; establishes rules on reporting.

SSI 2024/42

SSI 2024/42. The Packaging Waste (Data Reporting) (Scotland) Amendment Regulations 2024. Comes into force 1st April. These Regulations amend the Packaging Waste (Data Reporting) (Scotland) Regulations 2023 (SSI 2023/7). They revise the definitions of “household packaging” and “exempt packaging,” and clarify the division of responsibilities between brand owners, packer/fillers, importers and first UK owners, and distributors. The add duties to be carried out by SEPA.

SI 2024/127

SI 2024/127. The Railways (Revocation and Consequential Provision) Regulations 2024. Comes into force 4th March. These Regulations amend The Railways and Other Guided Transport Systems (Safety) Regulations 2006 (SI 2006/599) by omitting the definition of “European Union Agency for Railways, in Reg 2, paragraphs (6) and (7) in Regulation 15 and sub-paragraph (b), (i), (bb) in paragraph 1 of Schedule 2.
