SI 2022/844. The Hovercraft (Application of Enactments) and Merchant Shipping (Prevention of Pollution) (Law of the Sea Convention) Amendment Order 2022.  Comes into force 20th July. This Order amends the Hovercraft (Application of Enactments) Order 1989 (SI 1989/1350) and the Merchant Shipping (Prevention of Pollution) (Law of the Sea Convention) Order 1996 (SI 1996/282).

SI 2022/836

SI 2022/836. The Plant Health etc. (Miscellaneous Fees) (Amendment) (England) Regulations 2022.  Comes into force 22nd July.  These Regulations amend, with respect to England only, mend the Plant Health (Fees) (Forestry) (England and Scotland) Regulations 2015 (SI 2015/350) and the Plant Health etc. (Fees) (England) Regulations 2018 (SI 2018/289) to extend to 31st December 2023 the duration of exemptions and amend the fees payable by importers.

MCA consult on new fire regulations for shipping

The Maritime and Coastguard Agency is consulting on The Merchant Shipping (Fire Protection) Regulations 2023 replacing the Merchant Shipping (Fire Protection) Regulations 2003 (SI 2003/2950) and the Merchant Shipping (Fire Protection: Large Ships) Regulations (SI 1998/1012) to implement the current requirements of SOLAS Chapter II-2.  Consultation closes 12th September. https://www.gov.uk/government/consultations/the-merchant-shipping-fire-protection-regulations-2023-public-consultation
