The Water Environment (Amendment of Part IIA of the Environmental Protection Act 1990: Contaminated Land)(Scotland) Regulations 2016. Coming into force 8th March. Amends section 78YB of the Environmental Protection Act 1990 with regard to the granting of rememdiation notices.

HSE to prosecute film company after Star Wars incident

HSE has today informed Foodles Production (UK) Ltd that it will be prosecuted over four alleged breaches of health and safety law. The charges relate to an incident during filming of Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens, which left Harrison Ford with serious injuries after he was hit by a heavy hydraulic door.

The Scottish Landfill Tax (Standard Rate and Lower Rate) Order 2016. Comes into force 1st April. This Order specifies the standard rate and lower rate for Scottish landfill tax for disposals on or after 1st April 2016. The standard rate is £84.40 and the lower rate is £2.65.
