With Parliament in recess following the death of HRH Prince Philip for much of April there has been little legislative activity.  We do report on anew piece of legislation covering greenhouse gas emissions trading and amendments to laws covering dangerous substances, energy and planning.  We also report on an amendment to Republic of Ireland legislation on the transport of dangerous goods. The HSE is hosting a virtual workshop on 11 May 2021.  There are consultations on planning for off shore renewables and the management of clinical waste.  A Northamptonshire environmental management services company has been fined £1,020,000.

In our May 2021 newsletter, we report on the publication of two new Statuary Instruments concerning climate change and merchant shipping.  We note amendments to legislation on Air quality, climate change, plant health and waste.
