June 2022 newsletter

In our June 2022 newsletter we report on new legislation concerning prevention of marine pollution.  We also cover amendments to legislation covering hazard substances, fees and green energy.  We headline two items of law from the Republic of Ireland and one from the EU.  During the month two new consultations have been raised.  We include a note of recommendations by the Marine Accident Investigation Branch and there have been three noteworthy prosecutions.

The Simplifi Team announce the introduction of a new Governance Module.

The Simplifi Team are pleased to announce the introduction of our new Governance Module.

The new Governance module has been designed to “plug into” a Legal Register to provide an organisation with an easy to use and intuitive mechanism to record and demonstrate a progressive audit trail of compliance and governance related to individual items of Legislation. The tool has been designed to meet the ISO requirements for ‘evaluation of legal compliance’ and to help users manage the assessment process efficiently. For more information or to see a demonstration, please contact us at Simplifi.

Simplifi July newsletter

In our July 2022 newsletter we report on two new Regulations on building safety and control of pollution from merchant shipping.  There are amendments to UK legislation covering smoke alarms, building inspection, plant health, energy and control of pollution from shipping.  We note the passage of a new Bill on energy making its way through Parliament.

We list six amendments to legislation for the Republic of Ireland.  We remind out readers about the differences between EU Decisions, Directives and Regulations.

There are new consultations on REACH, operations around off shore structures, fire protection on ships, recycled fuels, rebates on landfill tax and carbon capture. We include two items of news which we trust may be of interest and a prosecution.
