A summary has been prepared of new and amended legislation, appropriate to Simplifi users, published during 2022 . Legislation has been sorted into categories.  The summary has been emailed to our subscribers and can also be found on our website.

Simplifi January 2023 newsletter

In our January newsletter we bring to your attention four new items, two with respect to merchant shipping and two with respect to hazardous substances. We note one amending SI which extends the transition period for twelve items.  There are two items of relevant legislation from the Republic of Ireland, but nothing from the EU.  There are four new consultations in progress.  We have highlighted three items of news, one from the US and two from the UK which we trust might be of interest.  Finally, there is as prosecution, brought by the Environment Agency, of note.  In addition we have prepared of new and amended legislation, appropriate to Simplifi users, published during 2022 . Legislation has been sorted into categories.

Simplifi February newsletter

In our February newsletter we bring to your attention six new Statutory Instruments concerning environmental targets and one, for Northern Ireland, on waste packaging.  There are amendments to UK SIs on climate change, feed in tariffs and planning.  There are also amendments to RoI SIs on waste and exposure to ionising radiation.  There is nothing relevant from the EU.  We bring two consultations, on climate change, to your attention.  We consider communication strategies in disaster situations.  There are two prosecutions of note.

March 2023 newsletter

In our March newsletter we bring to your attention one new UK Act of Parliament concerning the use of biotechnology.  Five new UK Statutory Instruments have been published during the month covering packaging waste, building safety (two), ozone depleting substances and environmental recovery. Amendments have been made to UK SIs concerning merchant shipping, nuclear fees, gas safety and, in Scotland, renewables. Amendments have also been made to an RoI SI on waste.   Consultations were raised during the month on managing radioactive substances, commercial driver certification, persistent organic pollutants, carbon capture and extension of climate change agreements.  We have two items of news, on high rise buildings and dangers associated with flexible lines, and a prosecution of note.
