The Employment Rights Act 2025

A 2025 c.36. The Employment Rights Act 2025.  Comes into Law 18^th December.  This Act amends the law relating to employment rights. Amendments cover:

• the procedure for handling redundancies;
• the treatment of workers involved in the supply of services under certain public contracts;
• the duties of employers in relation to equality;
• the definition of “employment business” in the Employment Agencies Act 1973;
• the establishment of the School Support Staff Negotiating Body and Social Care Negotiating Bodies;
• Seafarers’ Wages Act 2023; to make provision for the implementation of international agreements relating to maritime employment;
• trade unions, industrial action, employers’ associations and the functions of the Certification Officer;
• enforcement of legislation relating to the labour market
