In our newsletter for June 2025, we bring to your attention two amendments to UK legislation on air traffic and trading of vehicle emissions. There was a major amendment to Scottish legislation on environmental authorisations, which takes effect in November. Amendments were also made to Republic of Ireland legislation on the carriage of dangerous goods and EU legislation on emissions from passenger cars and light delivery vehicles.

During the month a policy was published by UK Government on the management of risks from poly- and perfluoroalkyl substances.

Consultations were raised on implementation of biodiversity net gain (BNG) for nationally significant infrastructure projects and on Merchant Shipping (Polar Code)(Safety) Regulations

There were prosecutions of note following two cases of exposure to dust, two falls from height and an injury to a maintenance worker.
