Simplifi December 2022 newsletter

In our December newsletter we report on four new pieces of UK legislation; three with respect to merchant shipping and one covering fees payable to the HSE for designated activities.  During the month amendments have been made to six UK statutory instruments (SIs) and one Welsh WSI.  The Republic of Ireland has published four new statutory instruments to increase producer responsibilities. The EU has amended legislation concerning persistent organic pollutants.  We note one consultation on the Contracts for Difference (CfD) scheme.  We have one item of news that DEFRA have extended dead lines for REACH transitional registrations and two prosecutions which may provide learning.

For the year of 2022 we have brought to your attention:

• Eighteen new pieces of UK heath and safety, environmental or energy related legislation
• Forty-four amendments to relevant UK legislation
• Five new pieces of relevant legislation from the Republic of Ireland (RoI)
• Thirteen amendments to relevant RoI legislation
• Seven amendments to relevant EU legislation
