SI 2024/1332

SI 2024/1332. The Producer Responsibility Obligations (Packaging and Packaging Waste) Regulations 2024. Coming into force 1^st January 2025. These Regulations require producers of packaging to register with the appropriate agency, to collect and report data in relation to packaging they supply, and to assess the recyclability of packaging they supply. They also require certain producers to meet recycling obligations and to pay annual fees as a contribution to the provision of waste management services for household packaging waste.

SI 2024/1332 revokes the following Regulations on 1^st January 2025:

• Packaging Waste (Data Reporting) (England) Regulations 2023
• Packaging Waste (Data Collection and Reporting) (Wales) Regulations 2023
• Packaging Waste (Data Reporting) (Scotland) Regulations 2023
• Packaging Waste (Data Reporting) (No. 2) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2023

and the following Regulations from 1^st January 2026:

• Producer Responsibility Obligations (Packaging Waste) Regulations 2007
• Producer Responsibility Obligations (Packaging Waste) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2007
