The Ionising Radiations Regulations 2017. Coming into force These regulations revoke and supersede the Ionising Radiations Regulations 1999 (SI 1999/3232). Coming into force 1st January 2018.
The Regulations impose duties on employers to protect employees and other persons against ionising radiation arising from work with radioactive substances and other sources of ionising radiation. The regulations also impose certain duties on employees.
The Regulations implement in part as respects Great Britain provisions of Council Directive 2013/59/Euratom laying down basic safety standards for protection against the dangers arising from exposure to ionising radiation, and repealing Directives 89/618/Euratom, 90/641/Euratom, 96/29/Euratom, 97/43/Euratom and 2003/122/Euratom.
