RI 2025/683. The European Union (Energy Efficiency Obligations Scheme) Regulations 2025. Legislation published 12th January 2026. Under the Energy Efficiency Obligation Scheme, energy suppliers and distributors in the Republic of Ireland must support energy efficiency projects in Irish homes, businesses, and communities. Energy suppliers and distributors that sell more than 400GWh of energy per year are Obligated Parties under the Energy Efficiency Obligation Scheme. All Obligated Parties are set annual targets based on their sales volumes.
