The EU’s updated Detergents and Surfactants Regulation (formerly EC 648/2004) strengthens safety, environmental standards, and market surveillance. Key changes include a prohibition on animal testing, introduction of digital product passports, improved biodegradability rules, and specific rules for microbial products.
