The Office for Product Safety & Standards is consulting on the introduction of a “new, modernised and enhanced core product safety framework”. Consultation published on 2nd April and closes on 23rd June. https://www.gov.uk/government/consultations/product-regulation-the-uks-new-product-safety-framework The existing product safety framework is based on the General Product Safety Regulations 2005 (SI 2005/1803) and overlaid with specific regulations for certain product sectors. The new framework will cover the purchase of products via the internet.
