the role of a Free Allocation policy as a carbon leakage mitigation tool bringing in unallocated allowances and/or the flexible shares to the market. the potential drivers of evolving market conditions in the UK ETS and objectives for market stability policy a review of UK ETS aviation policy. changes to the rules for sectors currently covered by the UK ETS to ensure more greenhouse gas emissions are covered by the scheme. Expansion of the scope of the UK ETS to the domestic maritime sector, waste incineration and energy from waste.DEFRA is consulting on the reform of waste packaging notes. Consultation closes 21st May. https://www.gov.uk/government/consultations/packaging-waste-recycling-notes-reform The reforms cover the packaging waste recycling note (PRN) and packaging waste export recycling note (PERN) system. This system will be established by the Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) regulations for packaging waste.
DEFRA is consulting on a review of the Local Air Quality Management Policy Guidance.
