Consultation on energy intensive cost exemptions

Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy is consulting on widening the eligibility for energy intensive industries for exemption from the indirect costs of the renewable electricity support schemes.  Consultation closes 7th September. https://www.gov.uk/government/consultations/widening-eligibility-for-renewable-electricity-cost-relief-schemes. Consultation covers aspects such as:

whether there is evidence of potential competitive distortions as a result of the current eligibility threshold for the renewable electricity cost exemption schemes to what percentage should the current threshold of 20% electricity intensity be lowered – 17%, 15% or 10% – in order to address the distortions if the threshold is lowered, how should the cost on non-eligible consumers be minimised how should money recovered from over-exempted EIIs be redistributed how operation of the exemption schemes might be improved.Consultation on widening

Consultation on the draft National Radon Action Plan

Public Health England is consulting on the draft National Radon Action Plan (NRAP) which addresses the health risks from public exposure to radon.  Consultation closes 27th July. The NRAP describes the national radon strategy and arrangements for managing exposure to radon in homes and workplaces, including the arrangements and approaches used to communicate information and guidance on radon from government and private industry to relevant groups such as members of the public and local authorities. https://www.gov.uk/government/consultations/uk-national-radon-action-plan

Household waste guidance consultation

Consultation on regulations for a new domestic nuclear safeguards regime,

Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy is consulting on the proposed regulations for a new domestic nuclear safeguards regime, following the UK’s withdrawal from Euratom. Consultation closes 14th September.  Following withdrawal from the European Atomic Energy Community (Euratom), the UK will be introducing new Nuclear Safeguards Regulations.
