Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy consultations

The Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy (BEIS) is consulting on proposed regulatory changes to remove  potential advantages in the Capacity Market, along with a number of technical changes. The method by which Capacity Market costs are recouped has the potential to give an unfair advantage to small embedded generation including diesel. Additional consultations on aspects of CFD

BEIS is seeking information on fuelled technologies and geothermal in the CFD. Consultation closes on 20th December. BEIS is consulting on its position that non-mainland GB onshore wind projects should not be classified as a separate technology nor allowed access to Pot 2 (less established technologies), but should continue to be treated as onshore wind.
