April 2025 newsletter

In our newsletter for April 2025, we bring to your notice one new item of legislation concerning retention of information concerned with the storage of carbon. There were amendments to UK legislation on the construction and use of road vehicles and, for Northern Ireland only, eco-design of energy related products.

During the month the UK Government published a policy document on cyber security and resilience. Consultations were raised by the Environment Agency on proposals for new standard rules permits, on reforms to exemptions and changes to the enforcement and sanctions policy.  The MCA is consulting on new marine equipment regulations. HMRC is consulting on carbon legislation.

During the month there was three prosecutions of note for releases of hazardous materials, cases of hand arm vibration syndrome and gross negligence.
